Abu Dhabi Mobility raises Dh119.4 million through ‘Most Noble Number’ Charity Auction
555 special plates attract philanthropists and business leaders across sectors
ABU DHABI – The Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), an affiliate of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, has raised Dh119.4 million through its online charity auction of distinctive vehicle number plates titled ‘Most Noble Number’.
The auction was organised in collaboration with Emirates Auction and concluded on 9 March 2026 in Abu Dhabi.
Proceeds from the auction will support two major humanitarian initiatives: the Mother of the Nation Endowment for Orphans campaign and the Edge of Life campaign, both designed to provide sustainable assistance to vulnerable communities and children facing hunger worldwide.
Auction details
The online auction featured 555 distinctive number plates covering private vehicles, motorcycles and classic cars. The collection included 11 plates from Category 21, 23 plates from Category 2, and 50 plates from Category 1, attracting significant interest from bidders across the UAE.
Participation came from prominent figures in business and philanthropy as well as representatives of charitable organisations and supporters of humanitarian initiatives. The strong response helped push the final amount raised to Dh119.4 million, reinforcing the role of charity auctions as a powerful platform for social impact in the UAE.
Humanitarian campaigns
The Mother of the Nation Endowment for Orphans campaign was launched by the Endowments and Minors’ Funds Authority (Awqaf Abu Dhabi) under the patronage of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. The initiative aims to create a sustainable financial resource dedicated to the long-term care and welfare of orphans while helping secure a stable future for them.
Meanwhile, the Edge of Life campaign was launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The campaign seeks to raise at least Dh1 billion to combat hunger worldwide, with the goal of helping five million children escape starvation.
Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, said the remarkable response to the Most Noble Number auction reflects the UAE community’s deep-rooted culture of generosity. He noted that such initiatives align with the vision of the country’s leadership to strengthen solidarity and compassion while channelling collective contributions toward humanitarian causes locally and internationally.
Dr Abdulla Hamad AlGhfeli, Acting Director General of the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), said the organisation of the auction forms part of the centre’s wider community initiatives aimed at supporting humanitarian programmes with lasting impact. He highlighted the strong participation seen during the auction, which helped generate significant proceeds expected to benefit thousands of people.
AlGhfeli also emphasised that cooperation between the public and private sectors plays a vital role in creating sustainable change and expanding the reach of humanitarian initiatives to communities most in need.
Abdulla Matar Al Mannaei, Chairman and Managing Director of Emirates Auction, praised the successful organisation of the 2026 edition of the Most Noble Number charity auction. He added that the auction served as an effective platform for promoting humanitarian values while directing proceeds toward the Mother of the Nation Endowment for Orphans and Edge of Life campaigns, initiatives designed to improve the lives of thousands of children and families facing hardship.
